| Average household income | $4,200 |
| EHG | $70,000 |

Common mistakes
- Applying with a gap in employment. You need at least 12 months of continuous work before applying, and must be working when you apply.
- Ignoring the remaining lease. Buying a resale flat whose lease doesn’t cover the youngest core member to 95 reduces the grant.
- Forgetting other grants. Resale buyers may also qualify for the CPF Housing Grant and the Proximity Housing Grant.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get the EHG for a BTO flat?
Yes. The EHG applies to both new and resale flats. For resale flats, you must first qualify for the CPF Housing Grant for resale flats before you can get the EHG.
How is my income assessed?
HDB averages the gross monthly income of everyone in the HFE letter application over the months worked in the 12-month period ending two months before the month you apply.
Where does the grant go?
Into the CPF Ordinary Accounts of the first-timer citizen and PR core members, based on their eligible share. It can be used to offset the price or reduce the loan.
